Here’s An Update.
Posted by Administrator in General on 07 3rd, 2009| | No Comments »

Ok, sorry I haven’t been blogging much lately. I’ve been a little busy.

This week I took my guitar amp to the music store and they said that it would probably be best to take it to a “guy”. That’s life. I did however by a new tube for one that had become microphonic. It sounds better but it’s a bit bright, maybe a bit on the shrill side. It will do for now though.

I have decided that I don’t like my pedals. I’m definitely a pain in the ass to please. I have decided I want a Boss ME-70 though I will take an ME-50. I guess I will sell all my pedals to get it.

TOP EC DROPPERS
I don’t usually do this but may start to encourage more drops on this site. There will be a reward.

An Update About Updating
Posted by Administrator in General on 06 23rd, 2009| | 2 Comments »

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven’t updated in a few days. I’ve been really busy working on the music, working on deals for music gear, and just life in general. The weird part, I really haven’t had anything really blog worthy to write about in the last couple of days. Zero excitement. Life is like that sometimes right?

Anyway, I will figure out something to post in a day or two to keep everyone one entertained. In the meantime be safe and happy blog hopping!!!

P.S. I am looking for a Boss TU-2 tuner pedal and a Boss GE-7 Equalizer pedal and a Boss DD-3 Digital Delay pedal, used of course, should anyone have these and wish to get rid of it, or know someone who does, hit me up!

A Sad Day In Local Music
Posted by Administrator in General, Music on 06 20th, 2009| | 4 Comments »

This morning (June 19) I woke up to learn the sad news that the Georgia Theatre in Athens Ga. had burned down. It was the kind of news that gave me pause. I called my wife over to look at the images on the local news, and since she is not from around here it meant nothing to her, but wow it sure did bring back alot of memories.

The Georgia Theatre had seen many great names that came out of Georgia like R.E.M. and the B-52’s. The list of bands who played their is extensive, B.B. King, Mr. Bungle, The Reverend Horton Heat, Muddy Waters, Drivin N’ Cryin, but for me, honestly, it will always be the place we went to after all the other bars and venues in Athens would close down for the night. It seemed like everybody in town headed there then. No need for a band, just loud music, no need for drinks, because most of us were already wasted.

There we would party further into the night, some of us trying to hook up since we had struck out at the bars or concerts, others coming to just wiggle their ass to the beat one last time before the night ended. Some simply wanting to mingle with the crowds that would come in.

Downtown Athens Georgia is a very special and beautiful place. The campus of the University of Georgia is there and there is everything you could imagine there. Great food, great venues like the 40 Watt, and the Georgia Theater and bars galore. In the daytime, downtown also has a bunch of shops and boutiques that have all kinds of things. The spirit of downtown is alive with the youth that study their and those from surrounding areas who simply want to bask in the ambiance.

The loss of the Georgia Theater is akin to Los Angeles losing The Viper Room, or CBGB burning down in New York. (Didn’t they close?) Sad day for nightlife and local music in Athens Ga. it is.

You Never Forget

Every so often, I’ll put my hand into my box of memories and pull something out that brings back memories of a whole different time. A whole different me. That ticket stub up there, yeah, that brings back some old school memories.

It was 1998, I was 22 years old. Hell yeah, a total babe magnet. NOT! Me, my friend D, his girlfriend H, and some bitch friend of theirs I will call Angel pile in H’s Mitsubishi Mirage and head off for Atlanta. Along the way we pack quite a few bowls of some of the green, and by the time we get to Buckhead you could say we were stoned.

The line in was brisk, and soon we were inside. Let the Rolling Rock Beer flow. It was a great show, Sonic Youth belting out tune after tune. Kim Gordon was hot, lol. But where it get’s special for me was near the end of the concert. Sonic Youth asked for request, sweet right? Well people were yelling this title and that title, and then there was a lull in that yelling. At that very moment, when everyone was at their quietest, I yelled at the top of my lungs, “Death Valley 69!!!”. Thurston said something that I couldn’t distinguish, he probably called me an asshole for yelling so loud, but then they immediately played it. Hell yeah, I had been vindicated! Yeah Lydia Lunch wasn’t there, but it was great.

The concert soon ended, our energy quite spent we took the long drive back home, smoking a couple of bowls on the way of course. Ah memories!

An American Idiot
Posted by Administrator in General, Music on 06 6th, 2009| | 8 Comments »

Some of you don’t watch Nascar and that’s fine. But this post has nothing to do with Nascar. Ok, maybe just a hair. What I want to really show you is a freakin idiot, just in case you haven’t seen one.

See that guy in the picture above? His name is Kyle Busch. He is probably the most hated race car driver in all of Nascar. Heck, he’s probably the most hated racer in all racing. His douchebaggery is undoubted by all those who follow the sport. It has nothing to do with his driving, which at times can be great, it’s him. So what has got me all upset with him?

See that guitar he is throwing down on the ground. That was the trophy for the Saturday night Nationwide Series race in Nashville. I was watching it, cause I’m boring like that. So he wins, and he get’s this wonderfully painted Gibson Les Paul, which I hear is worth close to 10,000 dollars and smashes it on the floor. He was such a wimp, or the guitar is so well built, that he could not smash it on the first try. But the second try was the heartbreaker, he killed it, then passed it to his crew where they further destroyed it.

Firstly, I have always dreamed of owning a real upscale guitar. I always wondered how beautiful there tones are. How awesome the electronics. The feel of the neck. I’m not the only one either. I bet there are thousands of people just like me. It broke my heart to see him totally disrespect that guitar like that. Not to mention how the artist who painted it must have felt. (Sam Bass)

Secondly, we are in a deep recession. Families are losing their homes. People have lost their jobs. It really is a tough time for everyone, how dare the rich throw that in our face by smashing something that could have been sold at auction. An auction to feed the needy or something. Ten thousand dollars worth of guitar could buy quite a few families groceries right?

Third, since when is it ok for the winner of a sport to smash the trophy. Thats kind of disrespectful to the sport isn’t it? I have never seen the Stanley Cup smashed and I would not want to be in the stadium if someone did smash it.

Yes ladies and gentleman, this guy to me is an American Idiot.
